Even after 3.5 years as a reporter for Craft Critique, it always amazes me how different our experiences are with review products. For example, two of us reviewed the Martha Stewart Circle Cutter and we had very different experiences which is why multiple opinions are so interesting.

Deck the Halls

This is the second sample I made for my upcoming review of the Martha Stewart Circle Cutter for Craft Critique. My article will tentatively be published 11/18- I'll post a link when it goes live. The image is from Squigglefly and I have to admit is was nice to be able to print it any size(I printed it in several) and know I could make the perfect circle to cut it out.

One unique thing about this card- you'll see stars. What is so unique about them? I had a template and I cut them out with an X-acto knife. For years I could never cut well with an X-acto until I recently learned the secret- glass cutting mat. I bought one and it is sooooo much easier to cut stuff than on a self healing mat. Yes, things slip and slide more but that is what tape is for!

This is the mat I bought from EK Success. It is heavy (of course) but I like how sturdy it is. I like self healing mats too but I can't believe I never knew how cool a glass cutting mat could be.

Organizing for the holidays

This card organizer was made out of a cheap pocket folder from the office supply store featuring "Ho Ho Ho" from Squigglefly. The Santa hat just screams for a pom pom- don't you think?

I made this project for an upcoming review for Craft Critique featuring the Martha Stewart Circle Cutter. See all the circles I cut with it? I had so much fun in my craft room this evening making this project. Definitely the most fun I have had crafting in many months. (OK the fact that my daughter was having dinner at her friend's house so I had the house to myself might have helped!)

I made a card and in typical Heather fashion...

I promised to post art so here we go. This is actually a sample for an upcoming review to be published on Craft Critique of the Staedtler Hot Foil Pen. I have owned the product for 5+ years and had no idea you could foil ribbon until I saw it on their website. It is very cool. I did waste umpteen yards of ribbon practicing but since I own 10 lifetime supplies of ribbon, I practiced with abandon! I also distressed the edges of the ribbon. Not a fan- but I have never unraveled the edges of ribbon for a card so I had to do it once.

And in typical Heather fashion, threw away the cardstock scraps that this image was on and I do not remember where the cupcake image comes from. I think it might my Cutting Cafe but I can't find it on my flash drive.

And in Heather fashion #2, my daughter bent her glasses yesterday but failed to tell me until it was too late to do anything about it. So I took her to JC Penney right after school to have them re-adjusted. It took the optician about 3 minutes and all was good. Flash forward 2 hours and guess who popped the lens from her newly fixed glasses? Guess where we are heading after school tomorrow? My daughter brings me her glasses and starts, "Mom, this is a really funny story..."

Update: Hubby came home from work and got the lens back into the frame of her glasses. He has earned my thanks, gratitude and it reinforces that I married a great guy!

And in Heather fashion #3, I prepared a monthly mailing at work for a customer. It is one of our largest customers and I dread it every month. Sure enough- I have it 3/4 done when they had a change. I made the change and finished it. I was so glad to have finished it so I can get on to the next thing. My manager emailed me tonight that the developer made a major mistake and the customer missed it on the draft and guess who gets to start the whole mailing all over again tomorrow? The man tried to make a joke about it and be humorous in the email. Trust me there is NOTHING funny about it ;/ Unless of course you are my manager!

OK back to cardmaking and writing for Craft Critique ;) Thanks for reading.

Boy its been a long time

How long has it been?

My own mother asked me on Sunday if I had unsubscribed her from my blog because she never gets blog updates anymore.

Sorry I've been a bad blogger ;)
