Art Journaling

LinkI've been working on some art journaling lately. I recently started using products from Faber-Castell's Design Memory Craft product line. I love the new Stamper's Big Brush Pens especially. I used a sepia Pitt Pen for the outlines and a gold metallic Pitt Artist pen to accent the butterfly wings.

For the flower above I drew it on watercolor paper and gave it a touch of color with Art Grip Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils and then used my water brush to blend the colors. The center of the flower was colored with a Big Brush Marker. The yellowish layer was colored with a yellow Big Brush marker and then I scribbled pencil on top of it before blending. It didn't blend super well but I'm just playing.

This journal page features some of the flowers I drew based on lessons from a new online book called "Fantastic Florals" by Nicolette Anderson. I'm purchased all of Nicolette's classes and this one is one of my favorites. I love to doodle flowers. Nicolette breaks down all of her doodles and I usually start following them closely and then I move in my own direction to give them my own flair.

how fun Heather! I'd get lost in the doodling and coloring and forget to journal!
