At least you got a birthday card

In case you are wondering, I have not changed the name of my blog to "1001 cards made with Perturbed Tilly by Squigglefly artist Marlene S." But you have to admit- she is the perfect image when you have had a day and you feel like venting a bit! 3 days and I have colored and accessorized Tilly differently each day.

Here's a funny little piece of trivia- I colored her necklace silver and copper and the earring rims copper and they are completely bleached out in my photo.

Has anyone seen Faber Castell Pitt Pastel Pencils? Gina K used them to create a background in one of her videos and I'm wondering if I need one more set of anything. Maybe there will be more info about them at CHA when people start posting about what they see.

Speaking of sneak peeks Craft Critique has an awesome list of CHA sneak peeks here.

Tilly goes Puffy

I had some more fun with the Perturbed Tilly image from Squigglefly. I gave her a broach, pearl earrings and a 3D hair bow. I kept the rest of the card very simple. The puffy stickers were from the very generous Holly Young.

I am trying to learn how to take those fabulous shots that show 3D. I'm not quite there yet.

Tonight I have to finish editing photos for my next Craft Critique review and continue listening to my Jonathan Kellerman audio book.

Squigglefly Challenge #82- Living on the Edge!

This week's Squigglefly Challenge #82- Living on the Edge is all about giving your creation some edge- decorated edges that is. I decided to give Perturbed Tilly by artist Marlene S some attitude with a scalloped border punch and some polka dot ribbon. I absolutely love "Tilly"- what an absolutely fabulous image.

I embellished Tilly's polkadots and shows with some Crystal Accents and some bling for her earrings. I troweled on a little make-up too!

I spent some time in my craft room last night. I got a Jonathan Kellerman book on CD and I was able to "read" and craft simultaneously. Over the weekend I made a batch of lasagna, mushroom chicken, lemon bars, Jell-O, casseroles, french toast, hard boiled eggs and some stuff for my hubby to take to work for lunch this week. I don't think I'll have to cook much this week.

Happy New Year Cards

Ten days ago I made a few New Year's cards to send to a few special friends. I kept them very simple. The brown background was texturized with a checkerboard texture plate, then torn and rubbed lightly with white chalk ink. I used actual stamps for the dragonfly and sentiment. I use digital images most of the time so it was fun use ink pads and get inky for a change.

Just enjoy your birthday!

This is a very, very simple card I created for Digi Day in the Squigglefly SNR Group. Party Pig was released today and is by artist Brian Lock. I played for 15 minutes and couldn't find a way to embellish it that I liked so it is unadorned. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought this could easily be a masculine card. So that is my story ;)

I'm going to find a 12 Step Group for rhinestone stickers in my area. My mom (and enabler) bought me some rhinestone stickers at Michael's today. One pack was $1, one 20 cents and the other 50 cents on clearance. Needless to say my mom will be eating cat food for the rest of her life after such an expensive purchase!

I will be commenting on blogs very soon. I appreciate all comments and like to reciprocate on each one.

I Love Moo

I created this card for a challenge I am hosting on our new Squigglefly group on Paper Craft Planet. The images are from a new set called Divine Bovine Valentine and it has some awesome cow related sentiments for Valentine's.

2 cards- 1 image

This card is a birthday card for the owner of the company where I work. The dude is name"Maurice ready for business" and is from Pollycraft (a company from the UK). The "You can't fix stupid... but it sure is fun to point it out" is from Squigglefly (the rest of the sentiment is inside. It might seem like an unusual birthday card but as if on schedule, our most clueless customer had a bunch of issues this morning so my co-workers all got a laugh.

Here's Maurice again, this time paired with a sentiment from gg designs. I don't want to tell you how much time I spent on this card. And... I still don't love it! But I had fun making it until halfway through the process then I just kept going because if I didn't finish it tonight, it wouldn't ever get finished! (And yes I am going to remove that weird square green sticker that seemed like a good idea at the time!)

We've had 3-4 inches of snow fall already this evening. Wonder how much will be there by morning?

Squigglefly Challenge #80 - SFC80- Put Your Heart Into It!

Today is Squigglefly's first official challenge for 2011- SFC80- Put Your Heart Into It! The new design team did a super job with their creations for the challenge. Saturday was a new release and many of them used the new images. You can check out the new release HERE.

My card features Sexy Phat Dude by artist Marlene S. Marlene is also a returning member of the design team in addition to creating images for Squigglefly (I despise people with that much talent!)

In other news, we've had to move the Squigglefly Group on Paper Craft Planet. If you haven't joined yet join now- lots of freebies, sneak peeks at new images and I hear the moderator is da bomb ;)

My new Squigglefly watermark was created by co- design team leaser, Chelsea Barnes. She created a personalized watermark for every member of the team. She rocks!

And in personal news, I now own a Big Shot! I love it and can't believe I wanted this long to buy one. I have been texturing every scap I own.
